These past two months have been very busy at Crews & Pesquera with many exciting events taking place. As many of you know, our new website is up and running. We invite you all to visit the site and provide us with any constructive criticism you may have.

This past month of April, 2009, Attorney Ricardo R. Pesquera was a guest speaker at a seminar held in Santa Fe, New Mexico hosted by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He spoke about Themes and Theories of Defense that can be developed when defending sexual abuse cases. News are that his presentation was well received by all those who attended.

Attorney Bryan W. Crews and Office Administrator Rebecca L. Granato attended the Florida Justice Association’s annual convention in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The seminars provided continuing legal education with recent case law updates along with the newest trends and updates in the practice of personal injury and protection of the rights of our clients. All attorneys at Crews & Pesquera constantly attend seminars to ensure they keep up with the most recent developments of law and how to apply them to their cases. This allows the attorneys to provide all their clients with an excellent representation.

We are excited to inform that Attorney Bryan W. Crews was recently interviewed by T.V. personality Nancy Grace concerning the Casey Anthony murder case now pending in Orlando, Florida. You may check him out on You Tube. On this issue, Attorney Ricardo R. Pesquera has been contacted by WVEN-TV Univisión Channel 26, seeking his services to serve as local Univisión’s legal analyst during the trial of Casey Anthony expected to begin during the latter part of this year.
We will keep you posted with additional information as we get closer to the trial.

Attorney Pesquera recently won an important victory when convincing a Judge to allow his client withdraw a plea of no contest that was recommended by defendant’s previous attorney. Defendant was never informed by his previous attorney that he faced a minimum 90 months of imprisonment by entering a plea and that the car he was driving at the time of the accident, was the subject of a manufacturing defect recall. Crews & Pesquera retained an accident reconstructions expert who concluded that the manufacturing defect caused the right rear wheel to fall off. This resulted in a rollover where a 15-year-old girl was killed. This manufacturing defect proves that defendant was not negligent in his driving and, therefore, not guilty of any wrongdoing. Trial is scheduled for August, 2009. We will keep you posted.

To conclude, we are entering the rainy months of the year that traditionally cause many car accidents. Please be careful when driving and exercise extra care. Make sure your children are properly restrained in appropriate car seats. However, if you or anyone you know is involved in a car accident, please call us immediately. Remember, we are here to help!!
